I Am Thankful

Thanksgiving is this week!  I want to take a moment and express my gratitude to those who have given so much to me.  I believe in honoring those where honor is due.  If I truly thanked everyone, this list would be too long for anyone to enjoy reading.  With that said, here are a few lovely people in my life I would like to thank!

My parents and family:  These lovely people remain my biggest supporters.   They support me with cards in the mail, financial gifts, words of wisdom, and prayers.  I am humbled by the blessing God has given me through my immediate and extended family.

Carl and Betty:  This dynamic duo is the couple who own my dry cabin.  They are an awesome couple and retired missionaries.  Very similar to the owner of my first dry cabin who I am also thankful for; without Jean, I wouldn’t have been able to move here by faith.  Carl and Betty genuinely care about the youth work that I do.  They offer advice as well as graciously allow me into their homes whenever I need running water. For those who don’t know, dry cabins don’t have running water.  These two go above and beyond what I would expect and I am grateful for it.

My friends:  To prevent forgetting someone, I shall make this general.  If we hang out in person, Marco Polo/Snapchat regularly, text/messenger regularly and the like, then we are certainly friends and I would put your name here 😀  I am so grateful for all of you and the personal time you take to invest in me.  Friendships take work, especially close ones.  I cherish our time together as we laugh, talk about life, and express frustrations and hardships.  Quality time remains my biggest love language so our time together may mean more to me than you realize.  Thank you, for being you.
If these next few look familiar, that means you’ve checked out my Behind the Scenes Page!  If you haven’t already, be sure to explore the site.  We recently revamped every aspect that was previously featured.  We even added a few new things.

My editor@pjwalk85.  PJ is my primary editor for all blogs, pages, and email newsletters.  I am thankful for all the time he volunteers editing for me.  He also offers great advice as a friend when I’m going through difficult times.

My graphic designer@cgkers.  Christine is a friend of mine who recently helped me makeover this very site.  She offers great insight on how to use WordPress and gives me creative feedback on all things related to this domain.

My mentors: Tom Delinger – Director of LightShine, Angelo Sarna – Pastor of Hope of the Nations and John Lehman – Counselor at CrossRoads Counseling Services.  These three men of God offer wisdom, guidance, accountability, and pray with me regularly.

Back Office: Al Weiman and Carl Ginder – Hope of the Nations Christian Center and LightShine Ministries respectively.  Both of these men have helped handle me immensely in the area of finances.  Al has sat down with me in the past to help me establish realistic budgets while giving sound advice.  He also handles donations that are given through my home church.  Carl handles my account under LightShine.  He takes care of all my mileage logs, receipts, etc. and informs me of the donations I receive.  Both of these men make being on the field so much easier.  I get bogged down by details like these so I’m glad God has blessed me with people who excel in this area.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.  You make me a better person.

  1. So happy to read this! I am thankful for missionaries as yourself who are out on the front lines. For many years I was a soldier in real life out on the front lines. I never understood when they used to tell me, “ for every paratrooper out here there is at least 14 support soldiers in the rear to keep you going”. I have found in missionary work it is much the same way. Except I often see so much gratitude from the missionaries like yourself. I consider it a great honor to pray for you and others to help meet your spiritual needs (and financial when I can). God bless you my brother
